APC Governors Pay Governor Rotimi Amaechi a Solidarity Visit


Rivers State was taken by storm with the visit of Progressive Governors led by Governor of Lagos State, Babatunde Raji Fashola in solidarity to Gov. Chibuike Rotimi Amechi over the recent security breach and other political situation in Rivers State.


Among the States represented were eight, which include Lagos, Imo, Zamfara, Ekiti, Osun, Ogun, Nassarawa, Oyo and Edo State. Five Governors and Three Deputy Governors of the mentioned States were present. Among the Governors were Babatunde Fashola, Amosun, Ogbeni Aregbesola, Kayode Fayemi and Abiola Ajimobi. Among the Deputy Governors representing other Governors were Prince Eze Madumere MFR for Imo State, Mamudu Shinkafi for Zamfara State and his Nassarawa counterpart.

The delegation called on the Inspector General of Police to quickly call his men to order and restore law and order ones again in the State. They further called on the Chairman of NGF and Governor of River State to further brief Mr. President on the security situation in Rivers State.

It will recalled that four Northern Governors had last Tuesday paid a  visit Rivers State in solidarity with their colleague Governor, Governor Rotimi Amaechi over the down turn of  political and security development in the State.

Meanwhile, supporters of Rivers State Governor were sighted around the Government House and other strategic places welcoming the Visiting Governors to Rivers State.

Why We Must Implement Diaspora Voting System By Hon. Alex Obi-Osuala

Diaspora votes must count in Nigeria. This is my position/opinion. If not because of the dubious nature of the officials in the government of Nigeria, one does not see any reason why Nigerians in Diaspora shouldn’t be voting as done in most countries of the world. Their votes would have been making a great difference, and give them a sense of belonging and participation in the affairs of the nation.
