2015: Anyone Opposed To Jonathan’s Second Term Ambition Must Be Mad, Says Tony Anenih

Controversial Chairman of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Board of Trustees,  Chief Tony Anenih today declared that anyone from the South South region of the country not in support of the second term ambition of  President Goodluck Jonathan must be a mad person.

Speaking at the South-South expanded Zonal Committee meeting of the party in Calabar, Anenih said no South-South leader should be part of  any conspiracy to stop Mr Jonathan from ruling the country for another term of four years irrespective of his dismal performance.

According to PDP leader who has a bad reputation of masterminding election rigging as a result of which he earned the nickname ‘Mr Fix it, “We are here to do what is the right thing. No person in Nigeria who is above 25 years that does not know the importance of South-South as  it produces oil and seasoned credible men just as the leadership of PDP is from the zone.

“The president is from South-South and therefore any person from the zone who does not support President Jonathan has a mental case and should not be allowed because I see that as a part of indiscipline.”

Responding to a question on automatic ticket of the PDP which he has been championing, Anenih said “as for the president, it is constitutional and he has a right to go for second term and if he should fail at the August 31 convention this year,  it means there will be another convention within 30 days. For the first timers in National Assembly and the Governors, they have the right to seek renomination and their acceptance would be based on performance.”

Also speaking at the ceremony,  Chief of Staff to the President, Mike Oghiadomhe, who stood in for Mr Jonathan,  said  the president’s administration is doing everything possible to  transform the country’s economy.

His words:  “Some road projects have been concluded and soon be commissioned while the restructuring of the railway is on-going. In the agricultural, the Jonathan administration has built silos for storing of grains. Our work is speaking for us and we will soon commence the work of commissioning all completed projects across the country. Very soon you will see the President in every state and PDP as a family will be there.”
