Anambra Guber: Soludo In Court Over Disqualification By APGA

Former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, Professor Chukwuma Soludo, yesterday, approached an Abuja High Court to challenge his disqualification by All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA from participating in the forthcoming gubernatorial election in Anambra State,

The erstwhile CBN boss, in his motion, applied for a judicial review of his disqualification by the screening committee that was set up by APGA to ascertain the suitability of candidates that applied to fly its flag in the coming election.

He is praying the court to set aside the decision of the committee denying him the opportunity to vie for the Anambra Governorship seat on APGA platform.

Justice Peter Affen, yesterday, overruled the oral submission of Ezechukwu that the matter can be entertained in the Federal Capital Territory, being the headquarters of the party.

He  ordered him to file further affidavits citing authorities of cases heard outside the jurisdiction of the cause of action and adjourned till today.

It will be recalled that APGA’s screening panel had on August 16, disqualified Soludo and five other aspirants from contesting the November 16 governorship election in the state.
