Judge Acquits Lagos Assembly Speaker, Ikuforiji Over N600m Fraud Allegation




Justice Ibrahim Buba of the Federal High Court has discharged and acquitted the Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Adeyemi Ikuforiji, of the alleged laundering of about N600m.

The Judge also discharged Ikuforiji’s aide, Oyebode Atoyebi of the same alleged crime.


The two were arraigned before the Federal High Court on June 24, 2013 on 56 counts bordering on conspiracy.

Buba, while discharging the two held that the prosecution failed to prove the allegation of money laundering preferred against them.
