Boko Haram Takes Over Town In Borno, Terrorists Head Towards Mubi – Eyewitness

Reports from the north – eastern Nigeria  says that Boko Haram Islamic sect, have taken over a Nigerian town in Borno State Nigeria.

Eyewitnesses tell BBC Hausa Service that the militants have taken over Uba town in Borno and are headed towards Mubi in Adamawa Nigeria.

Garin Local Government Area of Uba is located between the border of Borno and Adamawa states . Already, many people are said to have been killed and others injured during the onslaught by the sect .

There are no details on the number of people injured according to the BBC Hausa .  Eyewitness say gunshots and explosion rocked the entire community all through the night before the eventual take over of the community by the group.

After taking over control of Uba town villagers say the Boko Haram terrorists are now headed towards Mararbar Mubi in Adamawa.

Mubi residents are running out of their homes following reports that the insurgents are headed their way .

A residents told the BBC that he saw several people running  in their numbers, fleeing the Adamawa community.

The Federal Government of Nigeria had announced a ceasefire agreement with the Boko Haram sect weeks ago. Since the supposed agreement claimed by government, there has been a surge of violence in the northeast with kidnappings of young girls in the region.

The announcement came at the end of a meeting between the Nigerian and Cameroonian armed forces where both sides decided on collaboration in communication, intelligence sharing, tactical partnerships and handling of internally displaced said Nigeria’s Military Chief.

“A ceasefire agreement has been reached between the Federal Government of Nigeria and the Jama’atu Ahlis Sunna Lidda’Awati Wal-Jihad.”

“I have accordingly directed the service chiefs to ensure immediate compliance with this development in the field, Air Chief Marshal Badeh said.

But with the current take over of nigerian communities and abductions, questions arises over the sincerity whether an agreement was reached by security analyst who insists the government is obviously speaking to a different group and not the sect.
