National Security Adviser, Sambo Dasuki Threatening Me- Gov Wamakko

National Security Adviser, Col Sambo Dasuki has been accused of sending threat messages to the Sokoto state governor, Alhaji Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko over the governor’s comment on the police invasion of the National Assembly in Abuja. Governor Wamakko made the allegation today in Sokoto during an APC stakeholders meeting in the state, with the Speaker, House of Representatives, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal and other governorship aspirants, party stakeholders among others in attendance to brainstorm on the modalities for the coming party primaries in the state.

Wamakko however said that no amount of threat from any quarter will alter his comments over the ways and manners the presidency is using the police against the office of the Speaker, House of Representatives. He maintained that the action of the police was the highest level of impunity, which was capable of tarnishing the image and integrity of the country in the eyes of international community.
He stressed that in a normal society, both the National Security Adviser and the Inspector General of Police, Suleiman Abba would resign their appointment because they have failed Nigerians. He alleged that the duo were only doing the bidding of President Jonathan rather than protecting the interest of the common man. The governor also added that the police ought to protect democracy not to be used in sabotaging it. Dasuki is incidentally from Sokoto state.

His words: “This is what I said in an aired interview by a foreign medium and shortly afterwards, I received a text message from Col Sambo Dasuki that, ’till I hear from him’. But let me assure you that nothing would happen, it is just an empty threat. We are not afraid of anybody because we have Allah by our side and with him we are assured of Allah protection.”

On the party politics, Wamakko said the meeting was convened to ascertain the progress so far made by the committee set up to come out with consensus candidates for elective positions in the state. He said the committee was doing a wonderful job only that it was yet to resolve on the governorship aspirants which he said was now opened for all the zones. He therefore appealed to the aspirants to know that it is God who gives power and as such in case of resorting to primaries they should be ready to accept its outcome.
