23 Questions For President Goodluck Jonathan As He Visits Cross River State This Week

President Good luck Jonathan was chosen as the Vice Presidential running mate of late President Umaru Musa Yaradua in the 2007 presidential election mainly because he is from Bayelsa State in the South/South Region in accordance with the Zoning Policy of his Party –Peoples Democratic Party.

It is instructive that Cross River State is one of the States in the South/South Geo Political Region.

President Jonathan was sworn in as Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria from the 29th May 2007.

As a result of the incapacitation of late President Yaradua, the National Assembly of Nigeria invoked the Doctrine of necessity and by a resolution appointed President Jonathan, Acting President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria on 9th February 2010.

On the 5th May 2010, President Yaradua passed away after protracted illness. On the 6th February 2010, President Jonathan was sworn into office as the 4th elected President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

On the 0th May 2011, President Jonathan was sworn into office as the 5yth elected President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria after emerging victorious in the presidential election held in April, 2011.

President Jonathan in his campaign tour of Cross River State of Nigeria promised that if he is elected he would fix all the Federal Highways in the State.

He said that he would build a petro chemical industry in the Cross River State.

President Jonathan promised to provide a solution for the Bakassi imbroglio.

President Jonathan promised to make the Tinapa Holiday Resort in Calabar productive and profitable.

President Jonathan is yet on another round of campaign tour of the country after emerging the presidential candidate of the PDP for the presidential election scheduled for the 14th February 2015.

Accordingly, President Jonathan is billed to visit Cross River State of Nigeria this week in continuation of his campaign stump.
