Nigerian Troops Recapture Baga Town from Boko Haram



 Nigerian troops have recaptured Baga from Boko Haram militants today according to a tweet from the Nigeria defense spokesperson.

Baga was overrun by Boko Haram militants in January 2015 a few days after the Multi-national troops withdrew from army barracks of the Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF).

“FLASH: Troops have this afternoon captured #BAGA after a fierce battle with the terrorists. Heavy casualties on them. Mopping up ongoing.” — DEFENCE HQ NIGERIA (@DefenceInfoNG) February 21, 2015.



Boko Hraram laid siege in Baga this January killing between 200 to 3000 civilians in a major holocaust.
