Now, Jonathan Has Realised Stealing Is Corruption By Akorede Shakir

As the moments when the mind of President Jonathan was been ride by blind ambition, stealing was made legitimate to all government officials, particularly every chameleon regarded “loyalist” that’s good at deceiving the President. It’s sadly unfortunate, Nigeria really suffered under the watch of these mongers.

Meanwhile, defending the rights of, and providing adequate welfare for, the masses are not all a government is saddled with. Safeguarding the treasury and transforming the wealth of the nation to maximum benefit for every young and old citizen are core obligations that any leadership who fails to meet is a failure.

The pervasive corruption and its several cases that were swept under the carpet during the Jonathan tenure did not only shamed our country, but exhausted its affluent resources at the expense of the people. The cases of James Ibori, Diepreye Alamieyeseigha, Farouk Lawan, Femi Otedola, Stella Oduah, Pension scam, oil theft cum missing $20 billion case of the NNPC and lot others are heart-breaking. But amazingly, all were covered by the outrageous impunity of the President.

Leaving these cases unprosecuted was, at a point, no more surprising. Nigerians have realised that Jonathan has made corruption his  “hard way the only way” to satisfy members of his cabinet, top politicians, public administrators, and titanic capitalists, all in order to steal their support for his second term ambition.

As a sane man, you get more furious when you see President Jonathan turning himself an advocate of culprits at every interviews and debates. Not only under his impunity he has kept them, he has also suffered his brain and tongue at every point of defending corruption. What a President!

Now after the scholastic quote of our doctorate President “stealing is not corruption” has become the greatest saying of a Nigerian President ever, authentic information have it that Jonathan has demanded for refund of his N2tr election funds shared to ministers, special advisers, traditional rulers, support groups, politicians, and other government officials when the journey has eventually ended in vain.

When billions of dollars was expended solely for the purpose of delivering polling booths for the President, saying that trillions of it is still in keeping wouldn’t be a wrong assertion. The direct translation of this scenario obviously, is that Jonathan is the first model for corruption.

All the corruption cases would become ordinary pebbles when compared with the sorry-case of the President, during the 2015 general elections.

How will Nigerians stop suffering when their wealth is been burnt this manner?!

If Jonathan has remained nonchalant to the yearnings of the citizens over nation’s missing funds, theft/money laundry cases, and has been flagrantly defending the cases, calling them mere stealing… then what do we call this refund case of misappropriated campaign funds?

Fight against stealing?

Then stealing is corruption!

Jonathan should just pretend more to be a democrat, take heart, and to let go of this “stolen” money he offered these people. It’s just a case of “Ole gbe, ole gba” (From one thief to another)

History won’t forget how you have all looted and squandered the masses wealth.
