Marketers Agree To Resume Lifting Of Fuel Today
The crisis being experienced in the country as a result of the scarcity of petroleum products may abate soon as major oil marketers association of Nigeria (MOMAN) today agreed to suspend their strike and resume the lifting of petroleum products across the country “in six hours”.
The agreement was reached at a meeting with MOMAN and the senate committee on Petroleum Resources presided over by its chairman, Magnus Abe.
Others in attendance at the meeting include Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, minister of finance and coordinating minister for the economy; Joseph Dawha, group managing director of the Nigeria national petroleum corporation (NNPC) and major stakeholders in the oil and gas sector.
Also, the Nigeria union of petroleum and natural gas workers (NUPENG) and the petroleum and natural gas senior staff association (PENGASSAN) have suspended their industrial actions.
