Chadian Soldiers Kill 117 Boko Haram Fighters

The Chadian army has declared that its forces has in the last two weeks killed a total of 117 Boko haram fighters, spokesman for the army Azem Bermandoa, said.

He said islands that the militants used as hideouts on Lake Chad were also cleared.
“We killed 117 Boko Haram fighters during the two-week operation. We lost two men and several wounded,” he said.
“We destroyed their boats and seized various weapons during the operation.”

Chad has deployed thousands of soldiers to tackle the militant group, whose six-year insurgency has killed thousands; and Boko Haram has also been targeting the country and neighbouring African countries that are part of the regional force battling insurgency.
